The Bahamas authorities reportedly asked SBF to mint tokens worth hundreds of millions
Lawyers working on the bankruptcy case in the U.S. claim that founder and ex-CEO Sam Bankman-Fried was asked to mint millions of FTX tokens at the request of the Bahamian authorities before his access was revoked. The newly minted tokens, worth hundreds of millions of dollars, would have then been given to the Securities Commission for « safekeeping ».
This complicates things for the legal team working the U.S. court on the bankruptcy, as control over FTX data is being fought over by the liquidators in the U.S. and the Bahamas authority.
