Yuga Labs hires former Activision Blizzard COO as its CEO

The Bored Ape and Cryptopunks collections backer Yuga Labs has decided to end the year strong by hiring as CEO Daniel Alegre, former president and COO of the video game developer Activision Blizzard, best known for the World of Warcraft or Call of Duty franchises. He will officially start his tenure as CEO in the first half of 2023. Current CEO Nicole Muniz will stay on as a partner and strategic advisor.
Yuga Labs has invested in gaming, as it is developing its Otherside « metaverse », a multiplayer web3 game for Bored Ape fans.
Activision Blizzard is in the process of being acquired by Microsoft, pending approval by the U.S. regulators.
