The Metaverse has made the headlines in recent months, with companies from retail to fashion entering the multi-billion industry. Phil Spencer, Chief of Microsoft video games division Xbox described the Metaverse, during a discussion at the Wall Street Journal Tech Live event, as a “poorly built video game”, in which he doesn’t want to spend time or engage. Meta, who initiated the Metaverse, recorded major losses in the billions of dollar.
