Mark Wahlberg’s production company, Unrealistic Ideas, is partnering with Fortune to create a documentary on FTX, but more specifically on the relationship between FTX’s founder Sam Bankman-Fried and Binance’s founder and CEO Changpeng « CZ » Zhao. The latter has reportedly agreed to bring his input to the project, along with other Binance executives as well as execs from FTX and other major actors.
Once tight collaborators, the two founders have been embattled since the beginning of November, as SBF blames CZ for the collapse of FTX.
Although it provoked fear and potentially caused the liquidity crisis of the centralized exchange, we can say that it helped uncovering a large scheme to defraud investors and customers alike. SBF’s former associates Caroline Ellison and Gary Wang pled guilty to several counts of frauds while SBF still claims his innocence.
