Binance transferred $2 billion in BTC to an unknown wallet

127k Bitcoin, worth more than $2 billion, were moved from Binance to an unknown wallet earlier today. The large move created some uncertainty in the market. To avoid creating some more panic, Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao went to Twitter to reassure the crypto community, by declaring the transfer was ordered by the auditor in charge of checking reserves and wallet addresses.
This is quite unexpected, as CZ himself tweeted back on Nov. 13 « If an exchange have to move large amounts of crypto before or after they demonstrate their wallet addresses, it is a clear sign of problems. Stay away. Stay #SAFU. »
